Monkees Singer Davy Jones Dead At Age 66

It has been confirmed that Monkees singer Davy Jones died today at the age of 66. TMZ broke the story reporting that the amazing singer from the hit band suffered a heart attack that took his life. A rep for Jones revealed that he was at his Florida home this morning when the heart attack occurred. He was transported to Memorial Hospital which is located in Martin County, Florida where he passed away. Davy is survived by his third wife Jessica, along with his four daughters from a previous marriage. The singer along with Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork shot to fame with their group The Monkees. They had mega hit songs like ‘Daydream Believer,’ ‘Hey, Hey, We’re the Monkees,’ and ‘Last Train to Clarksville.’ The guys got their rise to fame via being cast by TV producers who were looking to create a scripted show about a rock band. Little did the band or those involved in the show realize that a phenomenon would soon follow, especially for Jones who became a full on heartthrob.
