Showing off her trimmed slim figure, Miley Cyrus was spotted out on a lonely stroll down the beaches of Hawaii earlier this week (December 29).
The former Disney darling donned a red bikini top and jeans shorts, which quickly took off while unveiling her matching red bottoms on the Aloha State beach outing.
As previously reported by gossip Center, Ms. Cyrus spent the past week vacationing in the tropical locale with her actor boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.
The couple has since returned to the states, as they arrived LAX airport in Los Angeles on Friday just ahead of the New Year's holiday.

'There is nothing you can do here today that will bring Michael back,' Joe and Katherine Jackson say in a statement read at Conrad Murray hearing.
By Andrea Duncan-Mao, with reporting by Gil Kaufman
Katherine Jackson arrives for the sentencing of Dr. Conrad Murray at the Los Angeles Superior Court on November 29, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Murray was convicted on November 7 for the 2009 death of Jackson from an overdose of the powerful anesthetic propofol and faces up to four years in state prison. (Photo by )

At Tuesday's (November 29) sentencing hearing for Dr. Conrad Murray — where Michael Jackson's former personal physician received four years in jail for involuntary manslaughter — a statement from Jackson's parents was read in court.
"We still look at each other in disbelief: Is it really possible he is gone? It is simply against the natural order of things," Joe and Katherine Jackson said in the statement, read by Jackson family attorney Brian Panish. "We are not here to seek revenge. There is nothing you can do here today that will bring Michael back." Do you think Conrad Murray deserved the maximum sentence? Let us know on Facebook. Along with Katherine, Michael's siblings LaToya, Jermaine, Randy and Rebbie were also reportedly in attendance at the hearing. In regards to the sentence, the family said in the statement: "We respectfully request you impose a sentence that reminds physicians they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder." The judge agreed, lamenting that due to a new California law to address overcrowding in prisons, he was unable to sentence Murray to state prison. Stating that Murray practiced "horrible medicine" and had "absolutely no remorse," Judge Michael Pastor declined the defense's motion for probation and handed down the stiffest sentence possible — four years — which Murray will most likely serve in a Los Angeles county jail or on home confinement. Upon leaving the courthouse, Michael's brother Jermaine, when asked if the four-year sentence was enough, shook his head and said, "No." Katherine told local TV station KTLA, "Four years is not enough for someone's life. It won't bring him back. But at least he got the maximum, and I thought the judge was very, very fair."

We've reached the top of our Celebrity of the Year countdown. Or, as many might say, given the winner, the bottom.
The THG staff has spent the last couple weeks breaking down the most newsworthy stars of 2011, from Lindsay Lohan at #10, up to the impressive comeback of Jennifer Lopez at #9, to the popularity of Selena Gomez at #8 and the hilarity of viral video stars at #7.
There was the hit-generating Katy Perry at #6, Justin Bieber and his hair at #5, those gorgeous British Royal Family members at #4, Charlie Sheen and his winning ways at #3 and the most charitable, eccentric celeb of all at #2, Lady Gaga.
So who remains? The woman who accomplished both everything and nothing in 2011, our #1 selection of the year... Kim Kardashian!
For the record, this is a business decision. We do not like Kim Kardashian. We wish we never had to write a word about Kim Kardashian. We fail to see why a single human being is a fan of Kim Kardashian. But the facts speak for themselves, and no celebrity made more headlines in 2011. Consider:
In JANUARY: Kim kicked off the new year by debuting a single that made Kim Zolciak sound like Whitney Houston. She also met the family of Kris Humphries for the first time and premiered the highly-rated, critically-lambasted Kourtney & Kim Take New York.
In February: She starred in a Super Bowl commercial and whined over her latest nude photo spread. It also came out that she and her family made $65 million in 2010.
In MARCH: She appeared in a Midori ad campaign, as buzz first circulated that she might marry Humphries.
In APRIL: She lashed out at Turkish Cosmo and posed on many red carpets in a cleavage-baring dress.
In MAY: She came out with a new fragrance, got angry over the misuse of her bare boobs and, oh, got engaged to Humphries.
In JUNE: She appeared on the covers of multiple tabloids and defended herself against rumors of infidelity.
In JULY: She took photos of herself in Humphries' hometown and got into trouble for complaining about the Casey Anthony verdict.
In AUGUST: She married Humphries. Perhaps you heard about it.
In SEPTEMBER: She honeymooned with Kris while her publicists plotted how to best announce the upcoming divorce. Someone also tried to purchase the rights to her sex tape.
In OCTOBER: She turned 31 and rumors started to swirl that her marriage was already in trouble. She ended the month by filing for divoce.
In NOVEMBER: She whined and cried and played ignorant as to why anyone would dare questions her motives to marry. She visited Australia and Minnesota and premiered season two of Kourtney & Kim Take New York. Over three million people tuned in.
In DECEMBER: She was considered one of the Most Fascinating People of 2011 by Barbara Walters and will conclude her most prosperous year to date the only way she knows how: by standing around a club in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve and earning $600,000.

The X Factor may have crowned Melanie Amaro as its first champion, but that talented singer isn't the only contestant to benefit from her time on the show.
Sources confirm that Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene and Astro will all sign recording contracts with Sony Music, encouraging news for the second, third and seventh place finishers, respectively.
Krajcik, of course, quickly became a fan favorite after viewers both heard his soulful voice and learned he had been working at a fast food Mexican restaurant.
Rene, meanwhile, earned a large fan base due to his dancing and energy on stage, while Astro - real name: Brian Bradley - was the most controversial crooner on the show, a rapping savant with a cocky attitude that turned off many viewers.
We wish all the very best of luck!

From the birth date to the sex of the baby, fans share their thoughts with MTV News.
By John Mitchell

It's almost here, and no, we're not talking about New Year's. Here at MTV News we're waiting patiently for an even bigger event: the birth of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby. And depending on whom you ask, Queen Bey's little prince or princess might be here sooner than any of us thought. According to various media reports, Beyoncé may even be in labor right now.
Rumors that the 4 songstress, who was one of MTV's top Newsmakers of 2011, was set to give birth Wednesday (December 28) first surfaced on Media Takeout, with two nurses at New York's Saint Luke's Roosevelt Hospital allegedly telling the celebrity gossip site that they were informed last night that a "celebrity VIP" who had reserved half of the hospital's luxury labor and delivery floor would be arriving to give birth Wednesday. There has been no confirmation that the rumored VIP is indeed Beyoncé, and representatives for the star did not immediately respond when asked for comment. Fans of the "Countdown" singer and her hip-hop mogul husband are starting to get very excited about baby Jayoncé. When MTV News took to the streets of New York to ask Bey's fans their thoughts on when they expect the baby to make its debut and whether it will be a boy or a girl, they had plenty to say. Most of Bey's fans told us they expected the baby to be born in January, with one perhaps astute fan zeroing in on New Year's Day, saying, "I think Beyoncé's baby will be born sometime in January, maybe on the first." We found only one dissenter on the chilly streets of NYC, and he seemed to have the best knowledge of past public statements from the couple, including an early-September interview with Beyoncé that announced that the baby was actually due in February. "I trust Jay Z, I think he's a good guy," the fan said. "Him and Beyoncé are a good couple, so they wouldn't lie to the public. So Beyoncé's baby is going to be born in February." And nearly all of the fans we surveyed believe the power couple is expecting a baby girl. Perhaps they caught wind of de facto auntie Kelly Rowland's slip of the lip on a London red carpet in early November, where the former Destiny's Child singer said, "I have no idea what I'm going to buy BeyoncĆ© at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won't be spoiled, but she will be very well looked-after." One fan was particularly excited for a baby girl because she hoped the babe picked up Beyoncé's good genes. "Hopefully a girl," she told MTV News. "Probably because I'm a fan of Beyoncé's looks." One thing all could agree on was that Jay and Bey's bundle of joy would jump right to the top of the celebrity baby power list. "A power baby, obviously," one fan said, while another added, "It's gonna be a pretty cool baby, that's for sure. Probably gonna run New York City by the time he's 13 or 14." Do you think Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby will be a boy or a girl? Let us know in the comments!

Fans are excited to see what Beyoncé has in store for her "Run the World (Girls)" video, but it seems they're going to have to wait a little bit longer. An announcement confirms that the premiere has been delayed, with no information on when B plans on dropping the video.
"OK, bad news: 'Run the World (Girls)' won't be out on Friday like we thought. No new date yet. Beyoncé is perfecting it," a statement from Vevo.com reads, Aceshowbiz.com reports. "We're disappointed too but wanted to let you know as soon as we knew. We'll [put] it up as soon as we do get it!"
A rep for the site had not responded to MTV News' request for comment by press time, and a search on the site for the video comes up empty.
The Francis Lawrence-directed video remains in limbo, but teasers leading up to its release have given fans a taste of the super-fashionable, post-apocalyptic world that Beyoncé and her supermodel minions inhabit in the video. Donning couture by Givenchy and Norma Kamali, Queen B looks stylish while fending off an opposing army.
The song is the lead single off Beyoncé's forthcoming album, 4. She recently spoke to Billboard.com about the track, which hasn't sparked much interest on the charts (it has yet to climb into the top 10). "It's definitely riskier than something a bit more ... simple," she said. "I just heard the track and loved that it was so different. It felt a bit African, a bit electronic and futuristic. It reminded me of what I love, which is mixing different cultures and eras — things that typically don't go together — to create a new sound.
"I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one thing, I just set a higher goal," she continued. "That's how I've gotten to where I am."

'This record is all heart,' Fernando Garibay tells MTV News about the sax-driven record.
By Jocelyn Vena
Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" is an undeniably pure pop track. The Born This Way single dropped earlier this week, and the song's co-producer, Fernando Garibay, says he's still "very surprised," "floored," even, by the song's release.
"You know what's crazy, as we were making the record ... 'Born This Way' is a statement song, but here with 'Edge of Glory, it's very personal to her," he explained. "It is very personal and very real; it's a real moment. This record is all heart."
Garibay worked on "Edge of Glory" with Gaga and DJ White Shadow, who also revealed some details about the song to MTV News before its release, calling Gaga's vocal delivery on the track particularly moving. "This song's had room for her too ... this is her natural tone. The vocal was one take," White Shadow said. "The whole thing from top to bottom was her, just backstage singing it all the way through."
At the pop star's request, Garibay threw in a heartbeat and made sure during production that it was clear Gaga's "finding acceptance in the bridge." He added, "It's a bold move on her part to put this out there the way it is, where the full version is intact [on the radio]. When was the last time you heard a musical solo sax break in the middle of a song on the radio? It was innovative as a song and it was totally guided by the emotions and the heart. That's what we did here. She wanted to put sax on it ... Her references were E Street Band and Bruce Springsteen, so the isolation of what the sax represents in the music dichotomy, what it represents in the whole spectrum of music," he said of the saxophone section, which is actually played by E Street's Clarence Clemmons.
"And that's how we captured that feeling. It's like that moment of acceptance and letting go. ... She said, 'Dude, there's no boundary, go all the way.' Her soft side is just as intense and as emotional as her intense, hands-in-the-air side you see onstage," he added.
Garibay couldn't even imagine what a video for the song might look like. "We're all excited," he said. It's always a surprise, but whatever it is, it's going to be epic. ... In this case, it's edgy because it's not edgy."

A scene from the "Run the World (Girls)" trailer

Beyoncé is teasing fans with a 20-second sneak peek of the video for "Run the World (Girls)," the lead single from her forthcoming album, set for release this year.
B is nowhere to be seen in the tease, but the clip certainly gives fans a taste of the video's sexiness. Leggy ladies, from all walks of life, mug for the camera as they hang out in the desert. They saunter, prance, hang out on bikes and look generally over everything, all while being totally hot. The fashions are mostly funky chic: lots of black, lots of fur and lots of hot pants.
A previous glimpse into the post-apocalyptic video showed the remains of what once was (a rusty car, a newspaper) before Beyoncé appears in all her glory, decked out in white and riding a horse.
Fans can also piece together some parts of the video thanks to leaked photos. B had been seen sporting white Givenchy couture in mid-April and then she looked both fierce and regal waving a "B" flag for anther setup, where she seemed to be commanding some sort of army.
Director Francis Lawrence didn't reveal too much to us when MTV News talked to him a few weeks back, but he did give some details about what fans should expect from the video, which was shot last month in California.
"It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," he said. "And, I can say that I think the song is unbelievable." He added, "I think the video's gonna be really fun and cool and different for her."

'I've listened to their music since I was a child,' says the R&B diva, who recorded 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Larry Carroll
You wouldn't peg Mary J Blige as the black-light-and-tapestry sort, but, as has become readily apparent in recent weeks, she absolutely loves Led Zeppelin.
In early February, reports began circulating that Blige had re-recorded Zeppelin's classic "Stairway to Heaven," working with Travis Barker, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson and guitarist Steve Vai on the track, which is slated to appear on the international reissue of her Stronger With Each Tear album, due Monday.
But after she had recorded "Stairway," Blige continued to get the Led out, covering another Zeppelin classic — the thunderous "Whole Lotta Love" — for the album too. And when MTV News caught up with her on the Essence Black Women in Hollywood red carpet, she told us all about channeling her inner Robert Plant for the tracks, a process that came much easier than you'd probably imagine.
"I did Led Zeppelin's 'Stairway to Heaven' and 'Whole Lotta Love' — it's crazy," she said. "I am a Led Zeppelin fan. I'm not going to say I've been to their concerts, but I've listened to their music since I was a child, and it's always moved me, especially 'Stairway to Heaven,' and 'Whole Lotta Love' is just fun."
Blige also said she recorded another new song — a "club record" called "I Can't Wait" — for the re-release. And while it's only slated to hit shelves outside the U.S., she hopes her fans will get a chance to hear all the new songs pretty soon.
"I want y'all to hear it," she laughed.

A version of Beyoncé's forthcoming single "Girls (Who Run the World)" has hit the Internet, and as you might guess from the title, it's a thumping girl-power anthem. It samples Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor" and serves as B's lead single off her forthcoming new album, set for release later this year.
A rep for the singer had not returned MTV News' request for comment regarding the leaked track or the final version's release date as of press time.
The song opens with a keyboard and a heavy club beat as Beyoncé chants, "Girls!/ We run this mutha/ Girls!/ Who run the world." The club banger delivers on what Beyoncé has teased about the album: "I'm mixing every type of genre that I love and I'm inspired by every type of genre. ... I'm not in a box. It's not R&B. It's not typically pop. It's not rock. It's just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music."
Beyoncé sings in her signature staccato style on the track. "It's hot up in here/ DJ don't be scared to run this, run this back/ I'm repping for the girls who taking over the world/ Have me raise a glass for the college grads," she sings.
"Boy you know you love it/ How we're smart enough to make these millions/ Strong enough to bear the children/ Then get back to business/ See, you better not play me/ Don't come here, baby/ Hope you still like me/ If you hate me," she goes on to declare. "My persuasion can build a nation/ In this hour/ Our love we can devour/ You'll do anything for me." Her vocals fade out as the song closes. But the song's message is clear.
"It'll be big. It'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," director Francis Lawrence said of the video for the song. "And I can say that I think the song is unbelievable." He added, "It is a fantastic song, so I really hope that song catches for her, and I think the video's gonna be really fun and cool and different for her."

While Willow Smith is the one who made music headlines with "Whip My Hair" last year, it's her brother, "Karate Kid" actor Jaden Smith, who will take the stage at the upcoming 53rd Grammy Awards in a special performance alongside Usher and Justin Bieber, with whom he collaborated on the song "Never Say Never" last summer.
The trio joins a list of new performers added to the show on Thursday (January 20) that will also include another power trifecta made up of B.o.B, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monáe, according to a press release from the Recording Academy announcing the additions to the February 13 telecast from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Also taking the stage next month will be nominees Muse and Lady Antebellum. They will join a roster of previously announced performers that includes Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, Cee Lo Green and Miranda Lambert. It will be the first time on the Grammy performance stage for Bieber, B.o.B, Lambert, Mars, Monáe, Muse and Smith. Eminem, Green, Gaga, Perry, Usher and Lady Antebellum will be making return visits for the occasion.
While 11-time Grammy winner Eminem leads the pack in nominations this year (with 10 nods), Mars has seven nominations, and Gaga and Lady Antebellum are not far behind with six nods each. B.o.B has notched five, Perry and Green are each up for four, and Arcade Fire and Lambert are vying for three awards. Bieber, Muse, Usher and Monáe are each nominated for two Grammys.
No details of the collaborative performances were released, but the Grammy announcement promised a rare, never-before-seen event for the Mars, B.o.B and Monáe segment.
With the addition of Antebellum, all five Album of the Year nominees (Eminem, Arcade Fire, Gaga, Perry) are now scheduled to perform on the show. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon.

In a getup worthy of Cruella de Vil, Gaga's offbeat, hands-on approach inspires 'Idol' wannabes.

Lady Gaga appears on "American Idol"
Photo: FOX
Not every "American Idol" mentor would ask a contestant, "How do you feel about getting a little psycho?" Then again, not every "American Idol" mentor is Lady Gaga.
Yes, "Idol" got Gaga'd on Wednesday (May 11), as the pop superstar tutored the top four contestants while they worked through material from the songbook of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller.
Dressed in typically grand Gaga fashion in a black leather ensemble and a blond bob wig, accentuated with a pronounced black streak and high black bangs, Gaga — her eyebrows bleached blond — looked like the spawn of Cruella de Vil and the lead character from "Pink Floyd the Wall." She immediately made her stamp as a judge when she challenged Haley Reinhart to make her performance a little more, well, "psycho."
With her eyes framed by an intricate black makeup job and sporting a large black dot painted on her right cheek, Gaga wasn't there to judge, she said, but rather to be a friend. "I just want to give them senses of inspiration and confidence," she said, "And to help them bring out what's really special about them."
For Reinhart, that meant drawing out her dramatic side. In her rendition of Ben E. King's "I (Who Have Nothing)," Gaga urged her to take a deep breath before delivering the song's defining lyric, a climactic "I love you."
"Give them drama!" Gaga pleaded. "Give them a little Edith Piaf. Give them a little, 'I'm crazy and I'm a laugh away from a tear.' " When she got her where she felt she wanted her, Gaga praised Reinhart. "She's gonna kick so much ass, little pony!" she said.
Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina — who make up the country contingent of this year's competition — proved slightly more difficult subjects. When she felt McCreery wasn't properly singing into his microphone, Gaga told him, "Get right in the center of that hot dog." ("I don't know where Gaga was going with that," McCreery admitted.) She then told him to treat the mic like it was his girlfriend. "She says to you, 'If you don't stick your tongue down my throat, we're through, OK?' " Gaga instructed Scotty to imagine. "So you keep your mouth on that microphone if your life depends on it or that bitch is gonna leave you."
For his part, McCreery didn't know what to make of Gaga. "I knew going into it, it would be interesting," he said. "I don't think I was prepared for how interesting it was." McCreery said he felt like he needed to kiss his cross when they were through; Gaga apologized for pushing his boundaries, but said she "just wanted to open him up a bit."
Getting Alaina to open up was another obstacle. The teen had chosen to sing Elvis Presley's "Trouble," but balked at a line in the song that would require to say, "I'm evil." Gaga was the first person on the show to treat Alaina like a young woman and not a little girl. "Listen, you're not a kid, you're 16," she told her. She then asked her to inhabit the character of the song rather than getting tripped up by any particular lyrics. And when she finally got Alaina to accept the line, Gaga told her, "At the end of the day, the word 'evil' is not that big a deal, is it?'
The Elvis theme came back around during Gaga's mentoring of James Durbin, when she recommended Durbin swivel his hips like the King. "Get in your body a little more,' she suggested, and when he didn't immediately comply, she stood behind him, her hands on his hips, and moved them herself. "When you move those hips, you look sexy," she told him, encouraging him to shake his money-maker all over the "Idol" stage.
With her appearance on the singing show, Gaga became "Idol" 's topic of conversation for the second week in a row. Last week, Reinhart's decision to perform the not-yet-commercially-available "You and I," caused much controversy at the judging table. Credit Interscope Records head honcho and "Idol" mentor Jimmy Iovine for helping to turn "Idol" into a platform for one of his biggest artists, whose high-profile new album Born This Way is due May 23.
